Evening With the Arts

On Friday the children and I went to a homeschooling function (through our local group) called Evening With the Arts. The evening consisted of two parts: performing arts and an art display. As this was our first experience with this event, the girls and I decided to enter a couple art pieces and then check out the rest of the show. It turned out to be a really wonderful event! There were different performances that included singing, playing instruments, dancing, recitations and the like. I was really impressed with the talent of these children! There was even a choir performance, but unfortunately we will not be here long enough for the children to be in the choir, as it is ages 11 and up. I would like to get the girls on stage for next year's event!

Bella with her entries (she kept blinking at the flash, so this was the best we could get):
The only frustrating part of the evening was trying to keep the boys under control. I finally gave up during the second half of the performances and headed outside with Jacob and Will. They entertained themselves on the benches, running wild in the grass, and playing on the foggy windows. It was so hot and humid outside and so nice and cool inside, which left a convenient layer of condensation for the boys to play with. I imagine the windows had to be cleaned the next day. Oops.

Next year, I think we will get a babysitter for the boys, or they will stay home with Jake while I take the girls. Either way, I'm already looking forward to our next Evening With the Arts!
