When we first moved to Mississippi last August one of my goals was to get into some kind of homeschooling group and make some good connections (for both myself and the children). However, making connections takes time and effort, and with the move and Jake's impending deployment, the fall and winter went by way too fast and we still hadn't made many friends. We did form one awesome friendship with Bonnie and her children, Haley and Dylan... who in turn invited me and the children to a Valentine's party with a group of her homeschooling friends. We had a great time! Better yet, we were then kind of absorbed into this amazing group of Christians who happen to homeschool their children, and I couldn't be more thankful. These families are fantastic. For Easter, we got together at a park and had a celebration. The day was absolutely beautiful... cloudy and not too hot. God was smiling down on us that morning, for sure! We started the day with a telling of the Easter story, had a gigantic egg hunt, a picnic lunch with cupcakes, and plenty of time for the children to run and play.
Will thought his bucket made a great hat:

Diana shared the Easter story through resurrection eggs:
Time for the big hunt!
Jacob thought it was very cool that he got a spider in one of the eggs that matched his spider shirt.
Checking out their loot with friends, Haley and Dylan:
Will and Dylan had fun playing together on the slides:
Sometimes Jacob likes to be alone:

Missing Will, who was already buckled and ready to go in the car:
Jacob was exhausted by the end:
We tried to get Jacob and Dylan to take a photo together, but the boys were a bit uncooperative. They were at least on the same bench... that counts for something, right?
We had such a pleasant day!
