This morning Will got tubes put in his ears. This journey started in December with an ear infection, and since then he has had continual fluid in his ears (as well as three more infections). After his latest round of 10 days on antibiotics I took him to the ENT and the doctor said his ears were just full of mucus. Poor guy. So today, Will got his tubes in. He did fabulous. We had to be in Roanoke by 6:30am, which meant we left the house at 6am. He was a bit fussy before the procedure, which I mainly chalk up to hunger (no food or water since the night before), but also because he apparently
hated his surgery gown. He kept trying to take it off, which was a wee bit humorous (when it wasn't frustrating). He thought it was hilarious when I put on my gown and hairnet so that I could accompany him through the anesthesia step. He kept pulling my hairnet down over my face. Silly boy. After the procedure the nurses waited until he woke up from the anesthesia and then brought me back. He was totally content drinking the apple juice while waiting for me. What a trooper.
The sunrise on the way was breathtaking:
He was a bit dazed from being woken up at 6 o'clock. This is when we arrived:

This was in between fussing about his gown:

All set to go:

Heading home, he was so good!

I thank the Lord for such a smooth surgery. And now I pray that these tubes really will be the key to a healthier ride for my little man!
Glad everything went well. Harmony had surgery when she was 3 months old. I was a nervous wreck the whole time!
