Family Visit

In May, Jake's sister and her family were able to make a trip to Virginia all the way from Iowa. Back when Jake was in grad school at VT for a year, Nicole and her family only lived 3 hours away. We spent many weekends together that year and the kids grew very attached to their cousins. Unfortunately, three years ago they moved to Iowa, then we moved to Mississippi (then again to Virginia)... and we all wish that we could have that 3 hour drive back! So when we found out they were coming to visit the grandparents and us, we were ecstatic! Here are a few things we did during their visit, although we were more about the visiting and not so good on taking photos. Perhaps we will get better photos next time!

Here Will is shooting his gun while the others play Monopoly Jr. in the background.
Aunt Nic did the girls' hair. She is so good at this, and she is always willing to spoil her nieces!
My precious niece, Evie:

After a couple long days, the kids finally wound down in front of the TV. Will fell asleep on me, Jude on his Grandad, and Evie on the floor.
Sean built a birthday pyre for Jude's 6th birthday.
Will and his cousin, Jude, the birthday boy!
Bella and Aunt Nic had a fierce 4-leaf-clover-finding contest. Even though Bella found over 50, Aunt Nic topped out over 100. They are crazy good at this.
Cy found his first ever 4-leaf clover and was so happy. I love this photo.
Will had recently learned how to ride a 2-wheeled bicycle and enjoyed riding through the yard.
Jude and Jacob had a Star Wars battle.
Nic snapped this photo of our parents... a beautiful photo of a beautiful couple.

We had such a wonderful time with everyone and we made such good memories. We are eagerly looking forward to our next trip when we can do it all over again!
