Metro Richmond Zoo

Last month we were able to head to the Metro Richmond Zoo for our last field trip of the 2012-2013 school year. This was our second trip to the zoo, but we still had a blast and wonderful day. 

The children love to feed the animals. 

Watching Jacob feed the animals always makes me laugh. He stands in this position as if he is ready to run at any sign of danger. His favorite animals to feed were the camels because you just send the food down a long tube and the camels eat them from the ground where they drop. 

We splurged a little and spent the money on taking a sky lift ride. The children said that this was their favorite part of the day. I will admit it was one of my favorites as well... it was neat to see the zoo from the sky. I rode with the boys while the girls rode ahead of us:

While we were waiting for the train ride I was trying to grab a good photo of the children. We were all wearing our "Homeschooler by day, Ninja by night" shirts, so they tried to attempt ninja poses... a bit unsuccessfully, if you ask me. {grin}

My favorite part of the day was getting to see all the baby animals. Everywhere we looked throughout the zoo we were spotting babies.

We had a long, full, and fun day at the zoo. Perhaps we'll head back again!
