Tote bags

I have been on a roll lately with sewing projects. After getting back into the hang of it with the cloth napkins, I decided to finally get around to making some tote bags for the girls and me. We went to Jo-Ann's Fabrics and I let the girls pick out their own materials, and then found some patterns online. These are the links that helped me the most: Skip to my Lou and Super Eggplant  The bags are reversible, so each girl was allowed to pick out two coordinating fabrics. (You can click on a photo to see it enlarged if interested.)

This is Addie's bag, she is all about the flowers:

This is Bella's bag:

And this is my bag, a little bit smaller than the girls':

The main purpose of making the bags was to have Bible bags for church... but the girls have fun using them for all sorts of adventures. I was able to use mine yesterday and it was so much easier to tote my Bible and notebook in a bag than to lug them in my arms while rounding up the children. Plus, I just like looking at the pretty pattern.

Now that the bags are finished, and I finished up all the cloth napkins (which below is a photo of the rest of them), I will have to find a new project to work on. Well, maybe in a few weeks when Bella and I are done with our school year, that is.

The brown and red sets of cloth napkins:

And for those who were wondering, we have had much success with the cloth napkins. I highly recommend making the switch if you are interested. I even found some sets at T.J. Maxx this past week that were only $10 for a set of 12... I might go back and pick those up for the future, but we are set for now.
