Jake's spring semester at VT finally ended on Wednesday (it has been quite the semester) and so we actually got out yesterday to go strawberry picking. It was a beautifully overcast day, which was perfect for picking: the rain held off and we weren't sweating! The strawberries were sweet but hard to find, since a lot of them were already rotting due to recent excess rain. Unfortunately, that meant most of the picking fell to me since the girls had a hard time finding the good ones. Jake snapped some good photos and spent the rest of the time tracking the boys.
Jacob had the most fun just running down the rows:

... and proceeded to
cover himself with strawberries.
The girls would pluck the strawberries I pointed out:
We ended up with one full bucket (5 quarts) of strawberries!
This morning we had bread with fresh strawberry jam... and strawberries, of course!
