This and That

Random happenings from the past few weeks...

Will is transitioning out of nap time. On days when he still gets a good nap in, he becomes a night owl and refuses to go to bed... which leads to him weaseling in a little more play time and extra cuddles with mommy:

One night I found Sarah barking like crazy when I let her out for her last potty break. When I went to investigate, I found this baby opossum. After a little bit of research I ventured back out to measure it and I was able to leave the little guy alone with a clear conscience (it was large enough to survive without assistance). 

One day after doing some hedging with the girls, we headed inside to hit the books. As Bella and I proceeded with schooling, I went in search of Addie and found her sleeping inside the laundry room, still holding her $1 earnings. I guess I wore her out!

So about that nap transitioning... on days when I try to skip Will's nap, sometimes he takes the matter into his own hands and crashes in various places. On this particular day, Will decided that the basket of freshly laundered linens would make a good bed. He also decided that sleeping in the nude is the ultimate in comfort.

One night the children asked to have a 'sleepover' together, so the girls cleaned their floor and I got out the sleeping bags. It was a good idea in theory, but in the end Will ended up retreating back to his own bed, and Jacob moved into his bed after a midnight potty run. It made me laugh, because that left the girls sleeping on the floor in their own room, with their nice beds empty.

Jake sent me this photo of him after he arrived in his new location: Macedonia. Seeing his smiling face makes me grin like a smitten teenager sometimes... and makes me miss him even more. I can't wait for this summer to fly by so I can finally have my love back home again.
