Easter Weekend

We had a really nice Easter weekend this year. For starters, we tried a new egg dying technique I found online to marble the eggs. It was very simple and used regular food coloring and a little bit of oil. I think we all enjoyed this method, and Addie said these were her favorite eggs we've ever made. I'm sure we will do this again in the future.
If we were to have judged the eggs, (not that we are competitve in this family), we concluded that Jacob's egg would have taken second place.
Jake's, however, was the best of the day... and it just happened to be the only egg he made as he was behind the camera the rest of the time.
The oil gave the eggs a nice shine, too.

On Easter Day, we had our egg hunt in the yard. Jake tried to capture some nice photos but the kids were running around like crazy little things.
Afterwards, the kids came in to count out their haul.

Addie was the clear winner.

While I was making Easter dinner, Bella led the kids in opening our Resurrection Eggs. Each egg contains a clue to help the kids retell the Easter story. They did a great job going through story, and it made my heart happy. Here are a few of their favorite items:
The cross...
the thorns...
the Roman soldiers with their spears...
the stone in front of the tomb...
and the best part... the empty tomb!

Bella then followed up with reading a story to her siblings. A nice way to unwind.

We had a wonderful weekend together. It was a great way to spend time remembering that we worship a living God who blesses us abundantly!
