Seabee Ball 2012

The night after we hit up Monster Jam, we were back at the same venue for our Seabee Ball. (Well, technically it was next door at the convention center, while Monster Jam was still going on at the coliseum... but who's taking notes?) We had a great evening at the ball. I really enjoy going to these events. I enjoy dressing up for an evening out with my hot date and a group of friends. As one spouse put it, it's like prom again. Except this time there is alcohol. Legally. And dinner. And a large cake. Good times!

Our first photo of the night, with the Seabee Side-boys in the background. (At least I think that is what they are called.)
I really wanted a full-length photo, but Jake kept goofing around every time we went to get a shot. He kept grabbing my tush and making me laugh mid-shot, which is very unbecoming. So although Jake is making a silly face in this photo, it was the only one we have of the night. I love my silly man.
Another shot. See? It really is like prom... you need to get plenty of photos!
Jake's battalion has a beaver as it's mascot. You know. Because beavers can build. And the Seabees... they build... and fight. So hey, okay! Hoorah, 74!
This is the Fighting Seabee. He's sporting a giant gun in his front arms, and tools in the others. The Seabee motto is: "We Build, We Fight."
We were fortunate enough to have wonderful friends watch our children for the night, so with no babysitter on the clock we were free to go out on the town after the ball ended. My feet were ready to get out of those dress shoes and into my boots, and it was probably one of the best decisions of the night!
Hoorah, Seabees!
