As soccer season was wrapping up, ball season began, and we have been going non-stop ever since. Bella is now playing her second season of coach-pitch softball, and both Jacob and Addie are in their first seasons of T-ball. They are all having a good time, and I really enjoy watching the games. The only thing I don't like is trying to balance all their games and practices! Unfortunately, there are many games that we have to split 'parent duty' for. It can be rough sometimes.
Jacob is playing on the Rockies. At first he was leery of being on a purple team, but now purple has become his new favorite color, and Will goes around calling all things purple as "Rockies"... as in, "that's a Rockies cup" instead of "that's a purple cup." My boys are cute.
His first time at bat:
After his first run. All smiles!
He really wanted to play on the pitcher's mound...
"I'm number 1!" The kids got to request their number and Jacob was so happy to get #1.
Jacob and his best bud, Dylan:
My Heartbreaker:
Addie is playing T-ball through the softball league, and her team is the Ladybugs. She seems to have a good amount of natural talent so far, so I am hoping that she continues to want to play next year.
Addie is #1, too!
She played 'pitcher' for about half of her first game and did a great job!
She may be a lefty for throwing, but she still bats as a righty.
When she was playing third base, she often got bored... there isn't much action on that portion of the field.
Bella is playing on the Dolphins this year. She is still enjoying the game, but she's trying to get used to batting off of her coach. Last year, although it was called 'coach-pitch', the league actually used a pitching machine for her age. This year, however, they are hitting off of their coaches, so Bella is still learning how to judge a pitch. It took a couple weeks, but she did get a run in both of her last two games. That's my girl!
Aaaannnnddd... our third #1! The children were all excited that they each got their first pick and that they all have matching numbers. After we had received the first two uniforms, we were pretty nervous about the third, but thankfully, it all worked out! Whew!
Bella, too, got to play a little in the pitcher position. It was hard for her not to get bored as the coach was pitching...
Ready to take a ball out!
Our weeks are now jammed full with practices and ball games, but I wouldn't have it any other way. So, let's play some ball!
