Happy Birthday, Will!

My littlest dude, William, is now 4. When I say 'four' it seems so insignificant. Four still seems young. Four is still too young for sports, too young for school, too little for the big rides... and yet that doesn't do my Will justice. Will seems to be plenty 'enough' for just about anything he sets his mind to. He has a personality that can (and often does) steal the hearts of all who meet him. He has the most animated expressions and can come up with such witty responses that people often ask, "HOW old is he?" I cannot wait to see what God has in mind for this one.

On his birthday, we started the morning off snuggling on the couch and watching TV. If I plop down it never fails that Will comes and climbs on my lap... and I love it. I know it won't be long before he outgrows my lap. Sigh.

We then spent the morning and afternoon with our friends, the Bouchers, who were visiting. We had Will's choice of pizza for lunch, and followed with presents and cake.
You see this expression? Always making a statement with his little self...
We got him a set of Avengers action figures. They were a hit.
To go with his theme, I decorated his cake with Captain America's shield. While assembling the cake the night before, the top layer of cake split apart. I was so nervous that it wouldn't hold out until Will's birthday, but thankfully it did!
Happy Birthday, Will! I look forward to what this next year of life will bring!
