Jacob recently celebrated his 6th birthday. When looking back over this past year I can see so many ways in which he has grown and changed. He started Kindergarten in the fall and he is handling it in true Jacob fashion... that is, with a TON of energy! I am thankful that I can teach him at home because I'm not quite sure how he would fit into a traditional classroom. He fidgets, talks, climbs around, and goofs off so much... and yet at the same time he is listening, grasping, learning, and retaining the information. It's quite mind-boggling. He tried his hand at T-ball again in the fall, but it was quite a struggle to get him to focus on the field. I think that too much time was spent standing around and not enough time was spent running! He has decided to try soccer again in the spring, and we think it will be a better fit.
I sure do love this bundle of energy:
For his birthday gift, we gave him MarioKart 7 for his 3DS. He really wanted this game, so he was pretty excited. Unfortunately for him, he had a rough day of schooling and had lost his video game privileges that day - and trust me, I gave him plenty of warnings - so he had to wait until the next day to even open the game. Life is tough sometimes.
Jacob had originally asked me to make a large Mario head on his birthday cake. I was doubtful of my ability to conquer that task, and luckily I found a perfect toy to top the cake instead.
Jacob loved his cake...
My sweet, goofy, boy!
Happy birthday, Jacob! I look forward to the next year of your life!
