Happy Birthday, Bella!

Poor Bella. I think her 9th birthday will be remembered as the lost birthday. We arrived at our new home in Virginia on the day before her birthday, and Bella was so sick. So as Jake was overseeing the unloading of our household goods at our new home, I took the kids to the urgent care clinic. Welcome to Virginia, right?

Thankfully, the urgent care clinic was a pretty decent facility, and the children were good sports as we waited... and waited. We even snapped a couple photos in the waiting room:
It turned out that Bella had pneumonia. They took an x-ray of her chest and I guess it looked pretty rough. We left the urgent care and then had to spend over an hour at Wal-Mart waiting for the medicine. Sigh. It was a LONG day for the kids.

So that brings us to the next day - her actual birthday. This is how Bella spent most of the day... sleeping on the giant stuffed dog that our landlords left for us:
While Bella slept, the rest of the kids played while Jake and I were neck deep in boxes and packing paper. When she finally woke, she begged and begged to go out to her favorite restaurant for dinner: Olive Garden. So we dressed up and headed in to town - 45 minutes away - for my birthday girl's dinner.
At the end of the meal, we asked if they could come sing and the server told us that they can no longer sing for birthdays at Olive Garden! What!?! I was a bit disappointed, but at least Bella didn't mind. We headed home and enjoyed some cake and ice cream as a family.
Happy Birthday, beautiful Bella! I hope that your next birthday is a much better one!
