You Bad Assignment

Addie had a journal assignment a couple weeks ago in which I asked her to write at least four lines of anything she wanted. I spent a few minutes giving her ample topic ideas and left her to her writing. This was the result:

The scan didn't come through very well as she had written very lightly in pencil, but this is what she wrote:

I I I I I dot wut to rit you
usimint I hat do weg usimints
my mom wus me to rit 4 lins
good bi you bad usimint

For those of you not fluent in 6-year-old spelling, this translates as:

I I I I I don't want to write you assignment. I hate doing assignments. My mom wants me to write 4 lines. Goodbye, you bad assignment. 

Ahhh. The joys of teaching. At least I can say that she feels comfortable telling me how she really feels. And as one friend pointed out, writing is writing, right? Haven't we all felt this way at some point? Smile.
