Back in May when our friends were moving across an ocean, we were handed down a few bird feeders. The children were very eager to put some seed out and so we did... and then we waited for the birds to come. And we waited. And waited. And finally, last week we saw our first birds at one of the feeders! The children were so happy!
Since it had been a very rainy few months and the birds were so slow in coming, some of the seed had already sprouted. That didn't deter the birds, however, and they were quick to clean out the feeder (which has been refilled). We were so eager for a summer of bird feeding that we originally bought a HUGE bag of feed, so let's just say that we could probably feed these birds until winter.
And speaking of birds in a completely unrelated note... we are huge Angry Birds fans around here. Not too long ago Jake ordered the children some Angry Bird stuffed animals and Jacob managed to squeeze all 6 of them into an empty cheese ball container. He was proud of this feat. I was impressed. He's just so darn cute!
