After a pizza dinner, the kids settled down for a movie: Barbie Thumbelina. So I guess that was a bit on the girly side, but the boys also enjoy those Barbie movies so it all works out.
Will was so tired that he didn't even finish his M&Ms before crashing. I had to clean melted chocolate off his forearm:
For bed the girls spread out on the floor. Haley was so nice that she brought an extra pair of Little Mermaid pajamas because she knew that Addie's favorite princess was Ariel. She let Addie borrow them for the night and Addie was thrilled.
The girls got to sleep beneath the stars, thanks to our Twilight Ladybug (the thing sitting on the white stool above). It projects the moon and some constellations on the ceiling and walls, and all the children love it. We have the ladybug for the girls room and a turtle for the boys room.
After putting the girls down for bed, I was anxious to see how long it would take them to actually go to sleep. After 1 1/2 hours they were still going strong so I had to go in and play the tough mom. Part of me wanted to tell them that if they would just whisper that they could stay up longer, but the other part of me was thinking about how rough a day can be with overtired girls. So the selfish me won out and I got them down with only one threat. Mom: 1 Girls: 0I'm looking forward to many more sleepovers in the future. I love to have friends over and that naturally overflows into having my children's friends over as well. There are good times left to be had!
