Christmas Eve

We had a pretty mellow Christmas Eve this year, but it was nice and enjoyable. We decorated cookies for Santa (and ourselves) after dinner. You can see my dad helping Will - my parents came into town for two days and it was so nice to spend time with them. We are already looking forward to more visits with Nana and Grandpa!

The best part of decorating cookies is getting to eat them!
We ended up putting the cross cookie out for Santa:

After bath time I let the kids open one gift each. We usually open all gifts from extended family on Christmas Eve, but as we had our 'early Christmas' this year, I wanted the kids to have some presents left for Christmas Day. So this year they opened their gifts from their Aunt Jenn and Uncle Adam: Zhu Zhu Pets. The kids thought these things were amazing, and had a riot in the kitchen until I forced them to head to bed.
Happy Christmas Eve!

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas. We did, even with the absence of Jake. We were fortunate to be able to let Jake watch Christmas via the computer, which was the best present we could have asked for. We also video record all our Christmas mornings, so between talking with Jake and helping the kids out, I didn't get any photos! I hope your day was full of love and remembrance that all our gifts and excitement on Christmas are a reflection of the greatest gift of all - that God sent his Son to earth so that we may live forever with Him. The gift of salvation is surely something to get excited about!
