A Weekend With My Love

For our 10th Anniversary Jake and I were able to get away to a resort for the weekend. We were so thankful to Jake's parents for keeping all the children for us - it was the very first nights we spent without a child since Bella was born (over 7 years ago). Although we try our best to get out on date nights and we try to make a point of spending our evenings together after the kids are in bed, there was definitely a feeling of freedom in getting away for a couple nights.

So how did we spend the weekend? We went hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding. We played paintball and shot skeet. We had two evenings of fine dining (and a couple cheap lunches thrown in). We went for walks, played checkers, watched a rainstorm, and watched a movie. It was a very nice weekend... nearly perfect (if only we could forget how much money it cost!)... and a wonderful way to celebrate ten years of marriage.

Here are a few snapshots of our trip:
Happy 10 years to us!
